• Trans-Pacific Rate Surge: Trans-Pacific spot rates surged due to capacity restrictions and blank sailings around the Chinese Labour Day Holiday. Carriers are limiting capacity amidst heightened demand and ongoing security concerns. Sailing schedules are expected to normalize by the end of the month.
• Asia-Europe Freight Rates: Spot rates are rising due to vessel capacity constraints and the Red Sea crisis. Efforts to add more ships and increase speeds aren’t fully bridging the gap between contract and spot rates. Regular schedules are anticipated three to four months post-political resolution in the Red Sea region.
